CHANDIGARH: With an aim to benefit aspirants preparing to crack AIEEE and AIPMT, PEC and IIT students will be organising a mock test for science students of class XI and XII in March.

PEC students have compiled a comprehensive 1,000-page preparation kit consisting of three books and a CD for free distribution amongst candidates appearing for the exam. Convener of the test, Mohit Singla, a second-year student of mechanical engineering at PEC, said that a team of around 100 coordinators will be involved in conducting this test.

The test is based strictly on the pattern of actual AIEEE and AIPMT conducted by CBSE for admissions to engineering and medical colleges across India. “Our team has been conducting this test on non-profit basis since 1999 and almost all students of the region appear in it. This year, around 40,000 candidates are expected to appear at various centres across four states of Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal,” Mohit added.

One book contains fully-solved previous years’ AIEEE/AIPMT papers and mock tests with stepped-difficulty levels for practice.

The second book “How to succeed”, emphasizes on best-practices for achieving success in competitive examinations. The CD contains around 30,000 simulated objective-type tests to improve speed and accuracy.

“Thousands of short-cuts, tips-tricks and time-saving techniques developed by us in physics and Chemistry have also been included for the benefit of engineering and medical aspirants in the form of a manual,” said Bakul Gupta, one of the core team members from PEC.

The prizes for the toppers of this test (laptops, net-books, mobile phones, etc) will be sponsored by the PEC and IIT alumni from around the world who are now at top positions in various MNCs.
